Jac lives to engage with others. The creation of Echo Dance Company stems from her engagement with the creative individuals she has been able to learn from, work with, or teach. All of these experiences have shaped her passion for movement, her desire to empower others, and her deep appreciation for art. The start of her journey began in her native state of California, which led her to Europe, New York, and then the Midwest. She is proud to have Echo Dance Company represent the echo of love many individuals all over the world have created for her.

I'm Marlo Owczarzak. I've been dancing and singing since I could walk, which has both delighted and annoyed my family. I love art in all of its forms, and I think dance is so wonderful because it combines passion and elegance in a physical and mental challenge. I am so thrilled to create my own art with Echo, and I hope we inspire others to do the same.

Ever since her days choreographing Fosse-inspired dances in her elementary school notebooks, Hannah is passionate about dancing, performing, and creating. Hannah lives to tell stories. An advertising copywriter by day and a dancer-choreographer by, well, all the time, Hannah strives to tell stories of the human condition. She finds inspiration in traveling and studying dance from diverse cultures.
Hannah received a minor in contemporary dance from the Indiana University, studied under the esteemed Professor Rosa in the African American Dance Company, and is the marketing coordinator for Movement Exchange—a program that allowed her to study dance in India and Panama.
Sára hails from Budapest, Hungary, where her love for dance and music was first ignited through performing with a traditional folk music group. After moving to Bloomington at the age of 12, Sára began to seriously dedicate herself to the art of classical ballet. Today, Sára maintains her passion for movement through dancing, yoga, and exercise. Treating these forms as creative, physical, and emotional outlets. Sára has grown as a dancer and discovered the liberating power of moving and flowing freely during her time with Echo Dance Company.
Grace grew up in a studio where classical ballet was seen as the most beautiful form of dance. It was not until eight years after her classical training began that she discovered a world of parallel lines & abstract body shapes; this discovery birthed a passion that is undeniably alive nine years later. The passion Grace harnesses today is one supporting all types of movement. She believes that human bodies never ceases to amaze, and should therefore be pushed past not only physical, but mental limitations.
Yolanda believes in the power of art. She is lucky that she has been able to participate in dance, music, and theater through her many journeys in life. From California to Indiana and everything in between, finding ways to express herself through movement, choreography, song, and acting have always been a constant in her life. She is grateful for being part of Echo Dance Company and the opportunity to grow as a dancer and artist.
Alison is originally from the south suburbs of Chicago, but considers Bloomington her home now. She works at Indiana University as an Emergency Management Coordinator and has been dancing for 25 years. Alison finds the dance studio to be a place where she can feel free of life's problems and be one with movement and music. She also finds freedom in the gym through Crossfit and weightlifting. Alison sees dance and exercise as a platform to express yourself and inspire social change.
Sarah is delighted to be part of Echo because it has given her the opportunity to dance again, something that’s been sorely missing from her life. She considers dance and movement to be lifelines, getting her through the best and worst of times. While it takes a fair amount of discipline to dance, it also offers an exuberant release of passion and expression, things she is grateful to share with this company and with others.
